Holiday Makeup Tips

Posted on

As we approach the holidays, it always a good idea to get your holiday looks in order just as you would your outfits.  To help make it easy for you, here are some fail safe tips to ease the stress and look beautiful at all your holiday events.

First up, the ever popular Smokey Eye.

The first thing you will need to do is prep your eyes. This can be done with an eyeshadow base or concealer. This will help you netralize any redness or discolloration.

Apply a medium shadow on the lower lid and work it up above the crease. Then you will want to layer a darker shadow on top to build the intensity. For that extra dept, smudge the darker tone in the crease.

Take an eye pencil or gel liner in a deep color and line the upper and lower lashlines. Now take the deeper shadow and smudge it over the liners.

Finish the look with some sexy falsh lashes. Be sure to check out the Ultimate Smokey Eye Palette to achieve this look

A Bold Red Lip

For me, it's not the holiday's until I've put on the Red Lipstick! Dont get me wrong, nudes, brown and berries can also be worn for the holiday. But for some of us Red seems to draw Santa nearer.

When choosing a rep lippies, be sure to choose one that has complimenting undertones for your skin tone. There are reds that are cool which will have a pinkish undertone. And there are reds with warm (orange or gold) undertones. Then there the true reds which ofter have blue undertones. That the one! Thats the one that says "Santa, I've been naughty..."

Holiday Glow

Fresh Skin Is Always In

Before you glam, you must always treat and protect your skin with the proper skin care. It doesnt matter what cosmetics brand you use, if your skin is not cared for, the makeup will NOT look it's best. Think of your face as an artist's canvas. No good artist starts their masterpiece on a dirty canvas. They all start with a fresh new canvas that has been cared for.

The first step is to have a regular skin care routine. Start with the cleanser, toner and moisturizer that is designated for your skin type. This will ensure your skin is in the best condition possible.
